Hello IT Pro,
Welcome back to IT Pro Tuesday!
This week, we’re looking for your favorite blogs to share with the community. Please let us know which ones help you do things more easily so you get better at your job!
As always, we’re updating the full list on our website here. Enjoy.
But on with this week's tools...! Here are the most-interesting items that have come across our desks, laptops and phones this week. EveryCloud has no known affiliation with any of these unless we explicitly state otherwise.
Popular Repost: Tool
CCleaner is the fastest way to eliminate temporary files and Windows Registry problems. Our own Matt F says, "When a machine is having problems, this is almost always the tool I use first. It also helps to ensure privacy by getting rid of traces left behind (such as cookies) by web browsers."
A Podcast
MIT Artificial Intelligence is a podcast featuring conversations on advanced technology and its effect on the human experience. Hosted by Lex Fridman. Kindly recommended by Corey Trach.
A Free Tool
Visual Studio Code is an open-source tool that provides smart completions based on variable types, function definitions and imported modules. Lets you debug code from within the editor and with break points, call stacks and an interactive console. Extensible and customizable and has Git commands built in. Our appreciation goes to partizan for this one.
A Tip
When preparing training tutorials, YouCanIfYou suggests using 'example.com,' rather than some made up domainbecause it's an IANA reserved domain.
A List
Windows Start | Run commands. wanderingbilby directed us to this "big list of run commands from ss64."
P.S. Bonus Free Tools
Process explorer enables you to discover which files, registry keys and other objects your processes have open and which DLLs they've loaded. Also shows who owns each process.
Universal MediaCreationTool is a bat file wrapper for all Win 10 Microsoft MCT (media creation tool) versions from 1607 to 1909 with enterprise edition support. Upgrade to Windows 10 by executing this bat file as an admin, with no other clicking necessary and no mdt/wds server required. myrianthi adds, "Everyone is so worried about how they are going to upgrade all of their windows 7 machines to windows 10 in time for the EoL.. just deploy this thing in group policy or your RMM, and you can have that done in hours. (I added a wmi query if statement to the script to only run on windows 7 machines, that way it doesn't repeatedly run each login. Made a simple slmgr script to remove and reinstall new win 10 volume license)."
Have a fantastic week and as usual, let me know any comments.
