Welcome back to IT Pro Tuesday!
We're looking for your favorite tips and tools we can share with the community... those that help you do your job better and more easily. Please reply or leave a comment with your suggestions, and we'll be featuring them in the coming weeks.
As always, we’re updating the full list on our website here. Enjoy.
A List
2023 End-of-Support Milestone in Microsoft 365 is a comprehensive list of deprecations and end-of-support announcements along with information on how to prepare for these changes. And Emma__24 suggests, "To easily keep track of the Office 365 end-of-support timeline, you can download a timeline-based cool infographic… in a printer-friendly format."
A Training Resource
Fast-Kubernetes is a concise training resource on Kubernetes. This repository covers object and component details (Kubectl, Pod, Deployment, Service, ConfigMap, Volume, PV, PVC, Daemonset, Secret, Affinity, Taint-Toleration, Helm, etc.) fastly, and possible example usage scenarios (Hands-on LAB).
A Documentation Resource
ntwrk-clean-and-flat is a set of 2D symbols for computer network diagrams that are converted from affinity into a clean, flat, easily customizable version in native Visio stencil format. w1ngzer0 explains it is "not a complete and comprehensive conversion, but it's better than nothing."
Another Training Resource
SharkFest Wireshark Developer and User Conference is the YouTube channel for the annual SharkFest educational conference. You'll find tons of great content on Wireshark, including how tos, best practices and details on the latest release. Our thanks for this one go to duck__yeah, who tells us, "Sharkfest dev/user conference channel is really good."
A Free Tool
Winsplit Revolution allows you to organize your open windows by tiling, resizing and positioning them in whatever way you like. This small utility sits in your system tray and is activated with a single click. BillyDSquillions calls it "a wonderful app."
P.S. Bonus Free Tools
Chrome Remote Desktop is a simple, easy way to share a screen or remotely connect to another computer. 85185 appreciates it as a "free, always-on remote connection. I use a different Gmail account for each user and switch between Chrome Profiles so that there is no chance of crossover (install direct)."
Event Log Explorer allows you to quickly view, analyze and monitor what's recorded in the Microsoft Windows event logs. Provides all the functionality you'll find in Windows Event Viewer as well as many other nice features. 743389 adds, "IMO it is worth the very mild "free license" hoop-jumping, it's just a tad—just enough —more responsive and configurable than the mmc. Only thing I totally hate about it is the area you can grab to resize the panes is like a tenth of a pixel or some shit, so turn down the DPI, lol."
Have a fantastic week and as usual, let us know any comments.
