Hello IT Pro,
It seems as though I just finished wrapping up last week’s edition, and its already time for a new one! Where does the time go? As always, unless specifically stated, we are not affiliated with any of the companies or products below.
Before we get to the tips, I just want to quickly share a bit about my company. I feel truly fortunate to be able to do what I love. I am passionate about my work and am truly proud of the product that we at EveryCloud offer.
We’re not your average spam filter – we go above and beyond what any other company offers because we’re obsessive when it comes to details. This dedication shows in the software we produce, and it has made us the highest rated filtering software on Spiceworks.
If you’re looking for a new spam filter, give us a try. We’ll cover the first month’s fees so you can see for yourself exactly how well the software works. If you have a contract currently and don’t want to lose out on the fees already paid, we’ll extend your free trial so you won’t lose a cent when you switch.
That’s it for the sales pitch, let’s look at the tools.
Clean
Clean is a Mac tool I use regularly. It helps me by moving any files on my desktop into monthly folders automatically. All I have to do is to save files to the desktop. Then, at the predetermined time each day, the software moves my files where they’re meant to be.
It’s quick and easy, and there’s no chance of you saving a file to the wrong folder by accident. Unfortunately, I’ve yet to find a similar tool for Window’s users. So, if you know of something, please let me know in the comments below.
Quote of the Week
“Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach that person to use the Internet and they won’t bother you for weeks.”

Techgenix
Part of what’s been most rewarding about these posts is that our readers have offered some great suggestions. Thanks to Tim G., we checked out Techgenix. This site is a massively helpful resource. It features tutorials about:
- Azure
- Active Directory
- Powershell
- And many more
The site is updated regularly, so there are always new tutorials to learn from. The tutorials are easy to follow and give you a real understanding of the subject covered.
Windows Users, We Haven’t Forgotten You
If you’re feeling a little envious of Mac users at the moment, we’ve got a great tool for you. When you hit the Windows Key and one of the directional arrows together, you can adjust the size of your windows. Here’s how that works:
- Windows Key + Up: This maximizes the window.
- Windows Key + Left: This orients the window to the left of the screen while stretching it to the height of the screen.
- Windows Key + Right: This orients the window to the right of the screen while stretching it to the height of the screen.
- Windows Key + Down: This minimizes the window.
KrebsOnSecurity
Brian, the webmaster of KrebsOnSecurity, is extremely knowledgeable about security for computers. I’ve spoken to him a few times and have always liked his no-nonsense approach. The website is one of the best resources for the latest news about security.
And that's it for this week’s IT Pro Tuesday. Have a great week everyone!

P.S. Just One Last Thing
WireShark is a sysadmin tool that is free and extremely useful. This tool captures packets and then breaks them down by different protocol headers and content. This is useful when you need to zero in on every detail of your system.
